Darkest Hour
"Undoing Ruin" CD Review
Release Date: June 28, 2005
Released By: Victory Records |
"Undoing Ruin," the latest release from the band Darkest Hour and their third for Victory records is a classic in the making. This band uses a lot of different elements from Thrash, Death and Hardcore metal.
One thing that really stands out for me is their uses of harmony guitars and believe me they do it well. Precision riffs, pounding percussion and vocals that punch you square in the mouth.
There's so many outstanding songs on this CD that it's almost a shame only to list a few but here's the one's that stands out: "With a Thousand Words to Say But One." "Convalescence" and "Tranquil" are just a few more to speak of.
The songmanship is fantastic on Undoing Ruin with outstanding solo's too, yes that's right I said, solo's something most bands have forgotten about nowadays. The production is awesome, it has such clarity that each instrument just jumps out at you.
This CD is a must have for any old school thrasher. Long live Darkest Hour!
