Buckcherry
"15" CD Review
Release Date: April 11, 2006
Released By: Seven Music/ADA

March 31, 2006 - They’re at it again, finally. It’s been four years since Buckcherry released an album and they’ve proven with their latest album, 15, that they still know how to rock. Not much has musically changed with this band despite their four year hiatus; however, that’s a good thing.

Hit single “Crazy Bitch” has been flooding airwaves and preparing Buckcherry fans for the April 11 release of 15. With songs like “Next To You” and “Brooklyn” you can’t help but wonder why these guys took so long to unleash another album. Catchy choruses and beats can be found throughout the entire album and with Buckcherry’s upbeat approach fans will be left completely satisfied.

Buckcherry’s skill and raw talent are displayed immensely during “Everything,” “Sorry,” and “Sunshine.” These three songs give a lot of feel to the album and allow fans to delve into the music and experience a rollercoaster of riffs, beats, and enticing lyrics. “Sorry” is an emotionally raw and authoritative ballad that gives the album a refreshing charisma.

“Onset” speeds the album up a bit with faster drum beats mixed with prevailing guitar solos. Vocalist Josh Todd is able to show off his unique vocals during “Carousel” and demonstrates a calmer side to Buckcherry’s music.

Buckcherry wraps up their album with “Broken Glass” and they definitely chose the right song to end with. “Broken Glass” shines with aggressive vocals and speedy tempos that will have heads banging and mouths screaming the lyrics by the end of the song. Buckcherry certainly hasn’t lost their rock ‘n’ roll touch.

For a band that hasn’t recorded in four years, you cannot tell with this album.

Todd’s distinctive vocals are back in inimitable form and this band is as securely formed as ever. Buckcherry’s timeless sound revolutionizes the eleven soon to be classic songs on 15 and will be sure to satisfy their fans, but might leave them marveling in what they could possibly create next. Hopefully it won’t take another four years to find out.

Buckcherry is:
Josh Todd - Vocals
Keith Nelson - Guitar
Jimmy Ashhurst - Bass
Stevie D. - Guitar
Xavier Muriel - Drums
