George Strait at The Amway Center Show Preview

December 23, 2011 -- Put on your boots Orlando as country superstar George Strait returns to town for one night at the Amway Center on Saturday February 11, 2012 at 7:30 pm. Special guest Martina McBride is scheduled to open the show. Tickets start at $39.50 and are now on sale. This is an all ages show. Artists subject to change without notice.

George Strait was born on May 18, 1952. He has released twenty-six studio albums, ten compilation albums, six Christmas albums and two live albums. His first studio album, "Strait Country" on September 4, 1981. His most recent studio album, "Here For a Good Time" was released on September 6, 2011 peaking at #1 on the Billboard charts and receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. George Strait has sold more than 69 million records and has more number one singles (58) than any other artist in history. With 33 different platinum or multi-platinum albums he ranks third all time (behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley) in RIAA platinum d certification history. In October 2006, George Strait was named to the Country Music Hall of Fame and in 2008, the Academy of Country Music Awards named him their Artist of the Decade for the 2000s. He has won 22 CMA Awards and in 1979 won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. He has also had roles in several movies including Grand Champion, Pure Country and The Soldier.

Martina McBride was born on July 29, 1966. She has released ten studio albums, three compilation albums and one Christmas album. She released her debut album, "The Time Has Come" on May 12, 1992 peaking at #49 on the country charts. Her most recent studio album, "Eleven" was released on October 11, 2011 peaking at #4 on the country charts. A compilation album, tentatively entitled, "Hits and More" is scheduled for release in January 2012. Eight of her albums have been certified platinum, one gold and three of her singles have been certified gold by the RIAA. Martina McBride has sold more than 18 million records and five of her singles have hit #1 on the country charts. She has won the Country Music Association "Female Vocalist of The Year" award four times, the Academy of County Music "Top Female Vocalist" award three times and received twelve Grammy Award nominations. She has toured with such artists as Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw.
