Iron Maiden at St. Pete Times Forum Show Preview By: M.X. Jones/FloridaEntertainmentScene.com December 23, 2010 - Iron Maiden's The Final Frontier Tour touches down in Tampa on Sunday April 17, 2011 for one show at St. Pete Times Forum. Ticket Prices start at $32.25 with the show starting at 8:00 pm. This is an all ages show.
Iron Maiden formed in Leyton in 1975. In 1981. The band's self-titled debut album was released on April 14, 1980. On February 2, 1981, "Killers" was released going gold in the USA. After the depature of vocalist Paul Di'Anno, Bruce Dickinson was hired as the band's new lead vocalist. The first album with Dickinson on vocals was 1982's, "The Number Of The Beast" which went on to sell 14 million copies worldwide along with earning the band their first platinum record in the United States. The songs, "The Number of the Beast," "Run to the Hills" and "Hallowed Be Thy Name" are among the most popular ever recorded by the band and are still played at most shows to this day. In 1983, "Piece of Mind" was released going platinum in 3 countries. On September 2, 1984 "Powerslave" was released peaking at #21 on the Top 200. 1985, saw Iron Maiden release the platinum certified live album, "Live After Death" which peaked at #19 on the Top 200 and helped cement the band's reputation as one of the best live bands in the world. The band's sixth studio album, "Somewhere In Time" was released in 1986, peaking at #13 on the Top 200, becoming the fourth consective studio album [and fifth overall] to receive platinum certification by the RIAA. The next studio album, "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" was released in April of 1988 and was certified gold by the RIAA. The 1990's, saw the band release a total of 4 studio albums and 3 live albums as well as seeing the departure of vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith. In 1999, with both Dickinson and Smith back in the band, Iron Maiden, released "Brave New World" in May of 2000 with the album peaking at #39 on the top 200. In 2003, "Dance of Death" was released hitting #18 on the Top 200. "A Matter of Life and Death" was released on August 28, 2006 becoming the band's first album to crack the top ten in the United States, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Top 200. Iron Maiden's latest studio album, "The Final Frontier" was released on August 13, 2010 peaking at #4 on the Top 200 and hitting #1 in over 30 different countries. Iron Maiden, has sold over 85 million records, released 15 studio albums, 7 Live Albums, 3 Box Sets and has been certified 3 gold and 5 platinum records by the RIAA.
